Self Help Group approach in Ethiopa

The SHG approach recognizes that poor women have the potential needed for self-development. It also asserts that if facilitated, they can unleash such potential. This development potential will cause magnificent economic progress and social development if the poor are organized in homogenous women institutions and receive opportunities for capacity building support in the form of training, coaching, and advice

Partnerships

The New School has partnered with CoSAP Ethiopia for years by participating in the international field program (IFP), where students spend the summer in Ethiopia working on projects involved in poverty and development, gendered development, and environment and climate change. Many assignments focus on developing tools for monitoring and evaluation, such as data collection, data analysis and reporting.
